We strive to keep our community fully informed at every stage of the Central Docks development at Liverpool Waters.

As work on the development begins, we’ve collated a comprehensive list of frequently asked questions so our neighbours can find out the answers at a glance.

When?

When did the project start?

Main construction works commenced 8th September 2025

When will it be finished?

Central Park is due to be completed by spring 2028

When will the park be ready for public use?

The park will be open to the public on completion of the project, due Spring 2028

When will you provide updates?

We aim to provide you with quarterly updates about the construction progress as well as news about our community engagement

What?

What is Central Docks?

Central Docks is currently a brownfield site at Liverpool Waters, sitting adjacent to the River Mersey and surrounded by Regent Road, Jesse Hartley Way and Trafalgar and Collingwood Docks

What days will you be working?

Staff may be on site from 7.00am and all works will be carried out between 8.00am until 6.00pm (Monday-Friday). Occasional weekend and evening working may be necessary but we will provide advance warning notice if this is required

What impact will construction traffic have on the roads?

Our main site entrance is located on the Dock Road opposite Porter Street. You may see an increase of construction traffic but we have asked our suppliers to avoid the morning and evening rush hour where possible.

What is GRAHAM doing to improve employment and skills in the local area?

  • On each of our projects, we provide employment and skills opportunities to local residents including those from disadvantaged backgrounds such as long-term unemployed, NEET, Care Leavers and those with a disability.
  • We engage with local employability organisations to support their cohorts and provide real employment opportunities including Apprenticeships and Graduates.
  • We offer valuable work experience placements that provides local residents with an insight into what it’s like working on a construction site. Additionally, we have our own GRAHAM CRE8 programme which is a training and employability programme that enables young people to obtain their CSCS as well as other construction related certificates, work experience and the opportunity to enter into real employment at the end.

What impact will the construction process have on the local environment?

The design and build of Central Docks will have limited negative impact on the flora and fauna of Central Docks.

Where?

Where is the nearest train station?

Merseyrail Sandhills, Moorfields and James Street train stations are all within 1.5 miles from Central Docks

Where is the nearest bus stop?

Merseytravel bus stops can be found at Vandries Street (2, 800, 838), Sprainger Street (136) and the Isle of Man Ferry Terminal.
